What is the Music Department of Portoroki Church up to?

Portoroki is a music loving church. Almost everyone can sing. Some can sing so confidently that your heart is touched and you feel the Spirit of the Lord moving upon the congregation. Yet others feel more safe singing only when every body else is singing, so that no one has to hear what their voice sounds like. Some can play guitars and keyboards while others can spot out an off-key - even if the whole congregation is singing.

Family Praise (From PNG) - singing during the recent music festival held at the Church.
Realizing this apparent zeal for singing and music in general, the Music Department of the Portoroki Church has started to take music in the church to another level. Their plans include having an music festival at the end of every quarter. The first one was held on March 29, 2008 and it went of to a successful finish. Others will be coming up at the end of the remaining quarters.

Other plans include helping church members to memorize the words of the songs in the Seventh-day Adventist Church Hymnal. This will start soon and will mostly be done during singing time just before the close of Sabbath.

Still another great program in store for the church members is occasional music lessons. Those who can't read music will find this to be a great program. For those who know how to read music but are a bit clumsy when it comes to changing keys, it will be a good time to freshen up on long forgotten music reading skills.

There are more plans of studio recordings and DVD production - all to be done this year. And everyone is looking forward to being a part of this great program.

Well now, you've read about the plans, but who are the people taking part in these programs? To be honest, Portoroki church is known to be able to host a lot of music-oriented programs. And the people who have been making these programs a success are the singing groups/ministries/departments. Below is a list of current active music groups, ministries and departments.
