Youth

Our church has a youth group for those aged 16 to 35.

This group has their own Sabbath school classes each week and also is involved in regular social outings throughout the year. We are a very active department in doing evangelism and entering new areas for your church.

Our youth ministry is designed to build and strengthen each other in developing a personal relationship with God and to support and encourage one another.

This year has seen a surge in outreach activities being conducted by the youth of our church. The youth have been particularly concentrating on breaking into the village of Tanoliu, socializing with the youth of the village as well as sharing God's love to them. There has been a massive interest shown by the young people of Tanoliu village - which is predominantly presbyterian. It has become one of the youth major projects this year.

There had been a similar outreach program conducted at the village of Epule. Now, Epule village has a church house and the chief has been baptized into the church. All this have been made possible through the hard work of our youth, who see the need to take the gospel to those who are ignorant of our Loving God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God has been good to the youth. Most of their outreach programs are funded through their own pockets. Most of the youth are either unemployed or they are students. Only a few work, and of the few, only a small fraction of these earn enough money to share with the youth. So the burden of income is a shared responsibilities amongst all the members, whether they are working or not.

Therefore, the youth embark on different fund raising activities to raise funds for their outreach activities. They've been selling tuluks - grated root crops baked in earth ovens. They work every sunday by clearing road sides, gardens, picking up rubbish, cooking and selling the food, cleaning houses and other trivial looking jobs, just so they can earn some money to fund their outreach programs.

There are times when money is short, and everyone just falls down to their knees and pray for a miracle from God. And God ALWAYS listens to our prayers. It makes the programs become more fun and interesting, because these young people have come to rely on God for everything.

One thing that these young people are proud of is that they are not short on talents. There are auto-mechanics, accountants, bank tellers, taxi drivers, bus drivers, sound engineers, computer programmers and technicians, musicians, video editors, graphics designers, joiners, carpenters, plumbers, cooks, tailors, map readers, gardeners, soccer players, rugby players, volleyball players, basketball players, and the list goes on. Everything you can think of, these young people have them - and that's one of the main reasons why the youth group is really active and on fire for God. The prophecy in Joel 2:27-29 is really being fulfilled.
